Brazil Safari

As close as you are going to get to an African safari in South America.  Three wildlife lodges offer a good standard of accommodation (but not necessarily the luxury of their Africa counterparts) with game drives, walking tours and boat safaris showing a huge amount of wildlife.  Starting in the southern Pantanal, you have good chances of seeing giant anteaters, the ostrich-like rhea, armadillos, giant river otters and, if lucky, tapirs and jaguars.  The jaguar spotting potential gets a lot higher as you head to the north where you will visit the Jaguar Research Centre.  As well as having exceptionally good chances of seeing this most elusive of big cats, you also have another chance to spot giant river otters, tapirs and a host of other Pantanal animals and birds.
